Sensory Impaired resource - Consultation
We are writing to inform you of an important proposal regarding the future of the Sensory Impairment Resource Provision at King’s Academy Northern Parade. After careful consideration, the Governing Body and Senior Leadership Team are proposing to close the Resource Provision, effective from the end of this academic year. This decision has been prompted by a significant decline in the number of students accessing the provision and a broader assessment of local demand for specialist services.
Why is this being proposed?
Over recent years, there has been a noticeable decrease in the number of children accessing the Visual and Hearing Impairment Resource Provision. In light of this, we have concluded that the closure of the provision will allow us to better allocate resources to areas of greater demand and support the overall educational needs of all our students. We understand that this may raise concerns, and we want to ensure that all parents and carers have the opportunity to provide feedback during the consultation process.
Consultation Period
We are now entering a formal consultation period, which will run for 4 weeks, from 4th April 2025 to 2nd May 2025. During this time, we welcome feedback from parents, carers, and other stakeholders. Your views are extremely important to us, and we encourage you to share any thoughts or concerns you may have about this proposal.
To provide feedback or ask any questions, please email us at sarah.rose@kingsacademies.uk or submit written responses to the school office by 2nd May 2025. We will also be holding a consultation meeting on 1st May 2025 at 4pm where you will have the opportunity to discuss the proposal further.
