In Shared Reading, we have been looking at some poetry, The Invisible Beast.  The children have been studying the language used and have had a go at writing the next verse.  There were some great efforts, really creative. We have completed our biographies on Christopher Columbus and have just started our research on Ellen MacArthur, ready for the next biography.  Our focus in Maths has been money, specifically the addition and subtraction of it.  The children have planned a party, costing everything using strategies like column method and a range of resources.  Carrying on from last week, in Topic we have been looking at beaches on the South coast, particularly Southsea, comparing them to Acapulco and understanding erosion and its impact on coastal areas.
